Laila was born and raised in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and has been practicing and studying yoga extensively since 2005. From the outset, she immediately understood that yoga is not just a physical practice but a blue print for leading a more meaningful, present and healthy existence, embodying all this precious life has to offer.
Laila started teaching in 2007 in the Middle East and as founder of The Yoga Juice, taught classes and workshops extensively in a variety of settings as well as leading a number of international retreats. She has completed her 500 hours with her primary teachers, Sarah and Ty Powers, the founders of the Insight Yoga Institute in San Francisco, with whom she has been studying for 9 years. This is a special program that integrates Yoga, Buddhism and Transpersonal Psychology, one that has resonated deeply with her on a personal level. Laila has also completed her teacher training in Mindfulness with Martin Aylward and Mark Coleman at The Mindfulness Institute which is accredited by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association.
Whether in a class, at a workshop or on retreat, Laila’s method of combining Yin and Yang components invites students to explore and find their personal edge through the awareness of breath and guides them to be fully awake in the present experience of the body, heart and mind. With the integration of mindfulness, Laila emphasizes on allowing space and time for self inquiry. By practicing this way, Laila aspires to give her students accessible tools for living a more awakened life in its most challenging, blissful and ordinary moments.
